To change batteries the back needs to be removed. It is kept in place by  a single small screw. The batteries are kept in place by a piece of metal with two contacts. To change batteries it has to be removed as well after which the batteries can be put in place. A picture of another calculator shows how it’s done.

When removed the internals become visible, showing a single Large Scale Integrated Circuit.

Next to the battery contacts the back of the LCD marked LF8200SE is visible.
